LA County particularly desires applicants who are bilingual in English and any of the following languages: Armenian, Chinese, Farsi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean and Thai.

Hours and Compensation

  • Hours
    Election Day: 6:00 AM. Early Voting: 9:00 AM. to Election Day: 9:30 PM. Early Voting: 8:00 PM.
  • Compensation
    $100 for each day served at the vote center. $80 for completing all training requirements. Additional $100 stipend for Bilingual Election Workers who speak a qualified language.
  • Other Details
    You must work the full day

Voter Registration Requirements

  • Requirements
    Poll workers over the age of 18 must either be registered voters in California or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. and otherwise eligible to register to vote except for their lack of U.S. citizenship.

Work Requirements

    16-year-old students who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence.
  • Training Details
    Yes. You must attend a training session.
  • A combination of in-person and online training is required. In-person training typically 3 hours. Online training typically lasts 3 hours.

Bilingual speakers of the following qualified languages are encouraged to apply: Armenian, Bengali, Burmese, Chinese, Farsi, Gujarati, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Khmer/Cambodian, Korean, Mongolian, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog/Filipino, Telugu, Thai, Vietnamese, Mandarin.
