Voter Registration Requirements
- Requirements
Poll workers over the age of 18 must either be registered voters in California or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. and otherwise eligible to register to vote except for their lack of U.S. citizenship.

16-year-old students who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence. - Training Details
Yes. You must attend a training session.
In-person training typically lasts one day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

In addition to Election Day workers, Merced County is looking for Early Voting, also called “vote center” workers. Vote center operating times vary, but workers work from 30 minutes before the vote center opens until it closes at the end of the day. Please contact election officials, listed above, for additional information.
