Hours and Compensation

    Most workers earn between $8.50 to $11 per hour, though some earn $250 flat rate for Election Day. $8.50 per hour for training.

Voter Registration Requirements

  • Requirements
    Poll workers over the age of 18 must either be registered voters in California or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. and otherwise eligible to register to vote except for their lack of U.S. citizenship.

Work Requirements

  • Minimum Age Requirements
    16-year-old students who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence.
  • Training Details
    Yes. You must attend a training session.
  • Training may be completed in-person or online. Training typically lasts 2 hours.
