Voter Registration Requirements

  • Requirements
    Poll workers over the age of 18 must either be registered voters in California or be lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the U.S. and otherwise eligible to register to vote except for their lack of U.S. citizenship.

Work Requirements

    16-year-old students who are U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted for U.S. permanent residence.
  • Training Details
    Yes. You must attend a training session.
  • In-person training typically lasts 3 hours.

In addition to Election Day workers, Santa Cruz County is hiring poll workers to staff Early Voting. Early Voting shifts are as follows: Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday (except for the Tuesday of Election Day) 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Individuals who are comfortable using computers and tablets are strongly encouraged to apply.

Individuals fluent in English and one of the following languages are encouraged to apply: Spanish, Mandarin, German, Tagalog Cantonese, and Italian.
