Hours and Compensation

  • Hours
    Approximately 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM or later.
  • Compensation
    Some positions earn a fixed rate and some earn an hourly rate. Most workers earn $15 per hour for Election Day and training. $150 to $180 for certain positions. Poll workers who transport election supplies may be reimbursed for mileage.

    You must work the full day

Voter Registration Requirements

  • Requirements
    Each poll worker should be a registered voter and a resident of the precinct for which the person is appointed. If necessary, a vacancy may be filled by appointing any registered voter of the county in which the precinct is located.

    Yes. You must attend a training session.
  • In-person training typically lasts 1.5 hours.
